Domino’s Pizza – Brooklyn Pizza
“Tunnel”
: 30
Director’s Treatment
I think you have a very cool, round concept on the table.
To the point: Camera opens facing about two dozens of cars stuck in NY traffic. Honks are heard along many unintelligible insults.
Off camera we listen to a guy with a Newyorican accent:
“Tranquilos, ¿qué no ven que hay tráfico?”
(“Calm down! Can´t you see that there is traffic?”).
Camera pulls back to reveal this guy, Raul, eating a Brooklyn style pizza with Javier, another Hispanic looking guy.
They are sitting on a bed, on top of a pick up truck that is transporting mattresses in a vertical position.
Unbothered by all the honking that’s going on around them, Raul folds his pizza and takes a bite. Javier asks him about what he´s doing and Raul explains that this is the way pizza is eaten in Brooklyn:
“Por mas grande que sea, la doblas y entra.”
(“Even if it’s big, you fold it and it fits”.)
Taken by the idea, Javier folds his pizza, takes a bite and the two continue to eat in the midst of the noisy traffic.
The shot opens to reveal that they are about to enter a tunnel, but the pick up truck is stuck because of the mattresses, and that is what is causing the traffic.
Cut to product shot.
Cut back to the pick up truck and we see a Delivery Guy in his motorcycle delivering another Brooklyn style pizza to the same guys in the same place.
Noticing the protruding mattresses, he asks: “Why don’t you fold them? Even if the´re big, they WILL fit.”
Location
We will be shooting in New York. Our creative intent is focused in developing the smart humor and the metaphor implied in the story line, and not in re-creating a location that already exists.

Acting
All characters should be real, contained and simple. The fact that the mattresses are causing the traffic is not acknoleged by the workers, who matter-of-factly continue to enjoy their Brooklyn style pizzas, is if this was just another day in traffic. The setting is fun enough. We will only emphasize that the reason for their relaxedness is the good taste of their BSP´s.
Photography

We’re aiming to create an overall cold, contrasty, bluish New York feeling that will enhance the taste appeal of the BSP´s. They will be the only visual elements with an enhanced chroma. No fancy camera angles or movements. The general situation and dialogues are the foundations of the spot, not the cinematic tricks. Camera will be as discreet as possible.
We have all the elements required to create a memorable, fun, cool spot. Thank you for the invitation to this bid, we are looking forward on getting the shoot started.

Domino’s Pizza – Menu Variety
“Delivery Guys”
: 30
Director’s Treatment
This copy seems to me like a very smart way to talk about Domino’s Menu Variety. I like it.
I propose that we rely on the “Pop-Up” method to introduce the different Delivery people.
What we mean by this is that we will narrate the story in a cinematic way.
Example:
1.- Close Up Delivery Guy 1
2.- Close Up Woman
3.- Two Shot, POV of Woman in which the Delivery Guy 2 is already in the shot.
4.- Med Shot Woman
5.- Group Shot to see Delivery Guys 1, 2 plus 3 already in the shot.
Etc…
We’re looking for the typical lower-middle class home, located in the outskirts of New York City.

Should be as real and straightforward as it can get.
In order to get the international Latin accent that’s required, we’ll cast in both New York and Mexico.
We’ll have three delivery guys and one delivery girl.
The idea is to have them all together in the final shot in a somewhat crowded space, like the three stairs that lead to the house door.
Warm, clean-cut, with lively colors and camera on a tripod.
No camera movements are needed.
Close Ups and Over the Shoulder shot will basically tell the story.
